Wood and paper slowly chars at 300 F over long periods of time.
Paper ignites at 425 to 450 F. But paper containers containing wet
or at least moist food (which acts as a heat sink) won't degrade in
a 400 F oven during a 30 minute warmup period as the contents just
barely have time to get up to 212 F.

Even a pizza box exposed to 400 F for 20 minutes that chars a wee
bit on the exterior is fine in the interior, as is the leftover
pizza.

And cookie sheets are routinely lined with baking parchment...

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Pat's Almond Macaroons
 Categories: Cookies
      Yield: 48 servings

      8 oz Almond paste
    3/4 c  Granulated sugar
 pn Salt
      3    Egg whites
    1/2 ts Almond extract

  Break up and mash almond paste to soften; add other ingredients
  alternately and beat well. Line a cookie sheet with brown paper or
  foil.

  Squeeze small amounts of dough through a pastry tube or drop from
  a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet. Smooth tops with
  pastry brush moistened with water. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 to
  20 minutes or until golden and puffed. May be stored indefinitely
  in an airtight tin or freezer.
