Sadly there does seem to have to be pockets or communities in order to find 
some of this great food from the old Country. In Most places it is not all that

common. Here in Rochester NY, It is not like You can go to a local Ukrainian 
Restaurant. Though there was one at one time, but it is gone now. But 
thankfully there are a few neighborhoods and places close where one can 
purchase it. There is also Churches in the area where they know the food is 
scarce so they have sales every Saturday to buy native dishes. Once in a 
while I buy some homemade pierogies and cabbage rolls. I have not heard of 
Sviata Vecherya, Jim.. What is that?

Yeah, I am not for the canned stuff.. I have run across a brand that is 
bagged and kept in the refridgerated section of the supermarket, which isn't 
bad at all. It is sad to say but Homemade Kraut and processed kraut seem to 
be as different as peas and carrots though it is the same thing.. 8-)
