We can but speculate on how deeply they have infiltrated the Homeland
Security organisation, but they would certainly do all in their power
to find out all they could about the methods used by HS to detect and
de-activate their IEDs.

You will have noticed that pressurised aeroplanes have double glazed
windows in the passenger compartments.  This is necessary to prevent
the windows from frosting up on the inside, which would tempt small
boys to lick them and freeze their little tongues onto the windows for
the rest of the journey.  The outer windows have a wee hole drilled in
them to vent the space to outside air, therefore the inner window has
to be the strong one.  I wonder what the airworthiness requirements
are for their impact resistance at maximum altitude, remembering that
everything in an aeroplane is a compromise between "light" and "safe".

I used to work with an aeronautical design engineer, and whenever he
had to take an interstate trip, he went by train if possible.  On one
occasion I travelled with him, and on the return trip we had no
alternative but a plane, so he chose a DC-6B as the most reliable, and
downed whiskies until he didn't care any more.

He was big, young and strong, and I am quite sure capable of wrenching
off parts of seats, meal trays or even using a bottle of duty-free
hooch to smash a window.

      Title: Bitter and Booze
 Categories: Desserts, Microwave
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      6 oz Pk semi-sweet chocolate
           Chips
    1/2 pt Whipping cream
      3 fl Brandy
    1/4 ts Salt
 
  Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave. Beat until smooth. Set aside
  to cool. Whip the cream until stiff. Fold in the brandy, salt and
  chocolate. Spoon into dessert glasses and chill in the refrigerator.
