 I'd have to agree, Michael. Now I don't do raw eggs anymore anyway, but
 I do think it can be overdone. I will also admit, now that we are
 talking about it ( and I know it wasn't good ) When my Mom used to buy
 fresh hamburger from across the street at the little neighborhood
 market, I would eat the raw hamburg.. I can't count the number of times
 I did that. As she was putting it away, I would grab a small chunk and
 just eat it. And liked it too. Nowadays and I haven't followed up on
 it, but there was talk here in NY and I hear they do it in other states
 too, ( just not sure how it ended up here ) That You could not longer
 get fresh apple Cider due to the E. Coli. ( seems the scare comes from
 the fact that some apples that have fallen to the ground get deer dung
 on it and are then used to press for cider. ) So now it has to be
 raised to a certain temp in order to be legal which them makes it
 actually apple jucice, not cider. People were a bit upset. I don't buy
 cider anymore, so I don't know how it turned out, though I do know in
 the fall, presses are running, so I think they rethought that one.

Same as the Pink slime thing today.. people have been eating it for
years. Now the news reports on it and calls it pink slime and it is some
goo from hell meant to make us sick. I respect that people have a fear
of it, but I don't worry about it myself. We have had it for years and
just did not know about it. I guess ignorance is bliss..

Oh it's no problem, You just made me recall it with that thread. I am
with You, I think that getting sick is not any easier now than years
ago, it's just the focus on it that makes it seem worse. Now I would not
recommend people go out and eat undercooked or raw eggs etc. and
definitely not raw meat, but we can carry things too far. I ( just me
personally ) think this pink slime thing is a joke. Like Redd Foxx used
to say. "All You people worried about eating this or that, You gonna
look Damn foolish lying up in the hospital dieing of nuttin!" ;-)
