Nasal congestion...we've become
big netti pot users here. Anne's
chemo treatments caused a lot of
"stuff" in her nasal cavities and 
we started her on nasal rinses and
boy did/do they help!

-> -> -> remembered. Part of it was, we'd just moved back to the mainland

groceries

-> -> but not too pricy. When we were up in Tucson with the girls, we'd try

-> -> go for something other than the McD's or other major chain fast food;
-> -> they liked the rice bowl places too. It was different from the usual
-> -> fast food but they were familiar enough with easy, quick sort of
Asian
-> -> from some of my cooking.

->  HN> me to try to go out to a "formal"
->  HN> restaurant at least once a month.

-> Smart lady! Not as many fast food joints at that time either.

She is a smart lady, and a pretty cool
one too...Army Officer's wife. Well, retired
army now.

And it has on many occasions!

-> They're not at home so we don't have to feed them. Now our problem is
-> mostly finding the time away from books, papers, classes, etc.

Finding time is often even more 
difficult than finding the money!!

gotten
-> -> the referral for the specialist but hopefully soon so I can get them
-> -> checked out. Started working with a local Quilts of Valor (look them 
up)
-> -> group today & was in on their first presentation. As with the other
-> -> quilting groups I've worked with, the quilts go for a great cause.

-> -> also fun working with a group of ladies who share the love of 
quilting.

-> Is it ever! Sitting there, running a sewing machine is fun. Had to show
-> some of them pictures on my phone of some of the quilts I've done. I'm
-> trying to convince one of the ladies at the farmer's market how easy it
-> is to sew squares together.

Even easier if you can do it 
by machine!!
 
-> ->  HN> She's in her mid 80's and is pretty
-> ->  HN> frail, so I'm grateful for whatever

-> -> I know the feeling; my dad is 90, mom is 83.

-> And not mixing up the gas & brake pedals in a parking lot. Dad said that
-> it appears that's what happened at the post office the other day. Nobody
-> was hurt but the front of the building took a beating.

I have a nephew and his wife and 
child living with my Mom now so 
she has them available for her
when she needs them.
 
-> -> As long as others are willingto go shopping with her, take her to the
-> -> doctor, etc. Does she cook for herself?

-> No family, no incentive to. My mom's has gone from bad to worse.

That's part of it, but I think the
physical aspect of standing up at
the stove and around the kitchen
is becoming more of an issue as well.
Right now I think Mom and my youngest
sister are visiting my other sister
in Knoxville Tn...for a couple of weeks
I think.

Nothing particularly new. BBQ, Mexican,
Asian...all things we've had before.

-> ->  HN> to find a bus stop and wait for a bus then
-> ->  HN> figure out the connections to get back to
-> ->  HN> the hotel...quicker, easier, and much safer

-> -> I hear you there; I remember being out one time in Berlin and being 
hit
-> -> with a bad migraine. Had to get back home via public transportation; 
it
-> -> was bad. Had Steve get me a Coke & candy bar so the sugar & caffiene
-> -> would start to take the edge off of it. Now I carry my migraine med 
with
-> -> me.
-> 
->  HN> No meds ever worked for my
->  HN> migraines...glad they work
->  HN> for someone!!

-> Newer ones don't even work? Try a heavy dose of B complex vitamins; I
-> was getting some nasty headaches in GA until Steve suggested that. It
-> helped, considerably.

In my 50's suddenly my migraines stopped
happening, so (fingers crossed, knocking
on wood) no need for meds anymore!
