CVS torqued my jaws more than 15 years ago - by instituting a policy that no
prescription went out the door for less than U$10 ... even the furosemide I had
been buying @ U$3.95/60 (40mg) tablets until that time. I know that competition
has forced them to alter that policy. But, I am not overly forgiving of such
practices and have never given them as much as 10c worth of business since that
day. I also bad-mouth them at every opportunity.

I use a small family pharmacy in a near by suburb - even without the Part D
drug coverage their prices are le$$ than Walgreen, Osco, etc. Not to mention
the personal service aspects and the overall friendliness of their business.
They even deliver (at no extra charge) and the drivers *do not* accept tips. I
have only had my dope delivered once - as I enjoy the short drive and there is
always something else I can do whilst there.   Bv)=

For instance, last time I was there they were installing an old timey soda
fountain. Yikes. I haven't had a real cherry Coke or lime phosphate in longer
than many people I know have been alive.

      Title: Green River Float
 Categories: Five, Beverages, I scream, Desserts
      Yield: 2 servings

      8 oz Green River soda
      2    Scoops vanilla I scream
           +=OR=+
      2    Scoops lime sherbet

  Originally produced by the Schoenhofen Brewery in 1919, it
  was an alternative to beer during the Prohibition. When
  Prohibition ended in 1933 the brewery went back to producing
  beer and Green River Soda became a staple at soda fountains
  everywhere. The brewery closed in 1950 but Green River lived
  on at the Clover Club Bottling Corp and is served at all
  Chicago area Hackney Restaurants, 50’s style soda fountains
  and in bottles in area stores during the few weeks we
  celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

  Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream or lime sherbet in 16
  oz. tall glasses and gently pour half a 16 oz bottle over
  each. Serve with a straw and a long handled spoon.

  Makes two servings and great memories.
