Actually it was pretty much the whole 
town. They brought the suggestion straight
to the City Council and wanted it done
 right now...which the council balked at, 
and once it became public the howling
began. Needless to say at the next City
Council meeting it was "tabled" then a
few months later it was "dropped". For
the most part the Korean community does
not interact with the "round eye" community
at all. They have their own banks, stores,
Doctors, lawyers, accountants, cleaners,
and restaurants, and seldom patronize
others...with the exception of Costco 
which is the primary supplier for many
of their "mom and Pop" stores. 

-> Here's a suggestion I have seen worked in other places - leave the
public 
works
-> street signs up and post street signs in (chosen pothook-looking 
language)
-> below - paid for my the local ethnic community. As with most
compromises, 
there
-> will be some (see above) who piss & moan. But, in the main it gets the 
job
-> done. Which is true of most compromises - not everyone gets all they 
want(ed).

Other than the street signage
all the advertising on the store 
fronts is Korean. If a roundeye wanted
to shop in that area he'd need to ask 
someone what the shop was, or simply 
go inside to find out. Restaurants,
and the larger markets however do have
some english signage.

The ones that are not bi-lingual
are often heavy with photos of 
the dishes so you can pretty much
guess what you're getting. 
The one you patronized has changed
hands several times and is currently
a Korean run Pho restaurant. I have 
not been in it since it switched over
from the Korean menu
