hehe.. I guess that depends on who gets the subs.. if I'm there I'd ask.. If
Ron is sent out on a food mission (g), doubt he will :) :)

Meatballs subs can be really good.. not at Wegman's though (BG)  I don't what
the heck they put in their meatballs but they're pretty bad from my experience.
:)  I guess I'm looking forward to the move to visit more restaurants in
Ithaca. :)


==Sausage And Pepper Subs==
1 1/2 pound Hot Italian Sausage links (about 5-6 links) 1 green pepper, sliced
in thick slices 1 yellow pepper, sliced in thick slices 1 red pepper, sliced in
thick slices 1 large onion, sliced in thick slices 4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup red wine, or balsamic vinegar diluted with water to make 1/4 cup. 2
cups tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt/pepper to taste

This is a sausage and pepper mix with spicy red sauce - if you like you can use
Italian Sweet Sausage instead of the hot variety.  If you REALLY don't want it
hot, you can leave out the red pepper flakes. (how sad (grin))

In a 10" frying pan with a lid, heat the oil, and slowly brown the sausages for
about 10 minutes with the pan covered, turning the sausage now and then.  The
pan should be on low heat. Add the garlic, onions, and pepper slices and turn
up the heat to med-high.  Stir up the vegetables to cook for another 10
minutes. Place the sausages on another dish, add the red wine and let it
evaporate scraping the pan to loosen particles. Add the tomato sauce, the
seasonings, and cook for a minute or so more.  Return the sausages to the pan.
Cook for another 5 minutes or so, or until the sausage is cooked all the way
through. Serve in sub rolls, with spoons of sauce and peppers and onions.
