I think self-medication is the way to go. There's no
standard formulation or standard dosage, anyhow, and
I've seen bottles of pills of between 0.3 mg and 10 mg,
each label claiming 1 as a dose. For me I discover that
0.3-0.5 is about right; I take a 3 mg pill and halve it
and third the half, more or less. If I take a bigger
chunk, it makes me weird. I secretly think that taking
the stuff is a gateway into alternate universes, and if
you take too much, it blasts you into a strange and
less pleasant place. Edited to add: I wrote this before
today's oddity, in which my brother pounded on my door
(luckily one of my past girlfriends made me promise to
keep it locked whenever I was in the house) and started
screaming incoherently at me. He sounded possessed. This
was worse than anything I recall. I had taken a larger
than usual dose (maybe almost 1 mg) to try to counteract
the fact that yesterday morning the US Airways Club
appears to have mislabeled the coffee - regular as decaf
and I presume vice versa. Evidence in favor of my theory.

Anyhow, it turns out that he had volunteered in the past
for Catholic Charities at a homeless shelter, but he'd
been bounced for some reason and had asked for a review
of the decision, so they asked him to come in between
certain hours today, only he showed up 15 minutes after
the stated end time, so he was bounced again. He didn't
outwardly show that he knew that there was a cause and
effect relationship between the two occurrences.

That comes to 3 1/2 oz of bboozze a serving. Not that
I would mind, mind you.

I didn't use Google but rather what remains of my brain.
For things of less than vital importance, it takes a while.

Speaking of which, there's this blonde walking down the
street reading a piece of paper, and she trips on the curb
and drops the paper; it's not too bad a fall, and she picks
herself up and continues on, leaving the paper behind.

She goes on a bit, and then passersby are shocked to see
her suddenly crumple and fall. They rush to her aid, but
it is too late.

The authorities are called, and in the course of the
investigation, the piece of paper is found. It reads:
"breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out."

I didn't know that she hit a truck. Which suffered more?

Pieces of info for those who weren't there:

1. I got them at the store, didn't forage for them.
2. There were only a few of them, and I got all but one,
   the last being yellow and over the hill.
3. As they were 12.99 a pound I couldn't afford much
   more than 6 oz anyhow.

Yellow quinoa (quinua amarilla)
cat: starch, vegetarian
servings: 4 to 6

1 1/2 c quinoa
2 1/2 c water
2 Tb EVOO
2 Tb butter
1 onion, chopped, not in original
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 Tb Peruvian aji amarillo paste
2 Tb "Delicioso" brand adobo
3 Tb flat-leaf parsley, chopped
- plus a bit for garnish
salt

Rinse and drain the quinoa. Cook in 2 1/2 c water for
20 min or until the grains burst. Drain.

In a large pot, combine the butter and oil. Saute the
onion, pepper, and garlic for 5 min or until onion is
transparent. Add the seasonings. Combine this with the
quinoa. Mix well and serve hot garnished with parsley.
