Actually, I think the gloves were originally made from a goat (or other
kid) youngster, a very fine, soft leather.

I can't think of a time (when Steve was pulpit supply) when we were
invited to dinner with a church member that we had a bad meal. One time
while we were in AZ, the chairman of the deacons & his wife took us to a
hole in the wall place (in a hole in the wall town) that was known for
its chicken fried steak. It was as good as advertised. If I order it
now, I'll have to watch out for the total carbs in the meal as the steak
is breaded, comes with gravy and usually mashed potatoes smothered in
gravy. Carb overload for me that way; to make it better, I'd ask for the
gravy on the side and only eat part of the potatoes.

Never heard of the movie but it sounds like a fun one. Guess I could
look it up on the internet & see who was in it, if available on DVD,
etc.

Molasses is one sub for corn syrup in the pie filling. I made one once
years ago & a couple of my friends thought I'd used molasses in it.
Nope, just dark corn syrup. I don't buy the corn syrup with HFCS added.
