You can't do anything about it; I do feel your pain, though.

I think that Lola (PA) looks rather like Lola (NY).
She is said to be a beautiful cat. What irritates me
is that she cruises on her prettiness, same with some
people, and so she gets to do things that the other
ones don't. Lie on the dinner table, sit on the kitchen
prep area, eat butter out of the butter dish (although
truth be told, all the cats are now allowed to do so).
Scream for food 24 hours a day. I get her off the
dinner table, off the prep area, take away the butter
dish, and don't feed her better than the other cats.

There used to be this ad where some very sleek and
fairly attractive model purrs, "don't hate me because
I'm beautiful," to which I would yell at the TV, back
in the day when I watched beautiful things on TV, not
just Ramsay and Bourdain, "I hate you because you
think you're beautiful." Which sums up my philosophy
of life. You can be all the gorgeous you want, just
don't expect to have any slack cut for you because of
that. And the same goes for rich, intelligent, well
spoken, talented, any number of kinds of endowed.

The doc did swallow his pride and call me, points in
his favor.

The three of you? A nice generous dinner.

Annie relieved me of dinner duty today and made CFS with these
giant stomped round steaks, only she says she can't make gravy.
I asked, so what do you do for gravy, and she pulled out this
mix, and I said to her, check the ingredients. Which were white
flour, wheat flour, salt, and pepper. At least she had the good
grace to laugh.

Milk gravy
cat: white, southern, not rocket science
servings: 4

2 Tb butter
2 Tb flour (or gravy mix!)
2 c milk
s, p

Melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour to
make a paste. Warm the milk and whisk in. Season. Cook
until thickened, whisking occasionally. For a thicker
gravy, use less milk. For a thinner gravy, use more milk.
Correct seasoning before serving. Not rocket science.
