I don't particularly want to put a damper on things,
but the subject of colon cancer is a hot spot with me.

I am not extrapolating to other forms of cancer,
where regimens of some effectiveness have been
developed and continue to be enhanced and refined.
Leukemia for example has been mostly declawed, and
breast, prostate, and many other solid tumors now
have high survival rates.

The best thing I can hypothesize for this person is
that he blindly follows the instructions of the drug
company, but his behavior damns him. He applied this
regimen until Billy got too sick to take it, and when
Billy was cut open down at the medical school, it was
discovered that the disease had not only not been
slowed, it had in fact spread to many other sites.
Everyone gave him days to weeks, and he's managed to
outbattle the disease for longer than anyone, myself
included, would have imagined. When word got out that
he had outlived the stats and the predictions, these
badgering phone calls started coming in.

 There seem to be no shortage of folks in

Nobody needs this therapy. It should still be in the
animal testing stage, and then only in order to find
something better. Quite simply, they are charging big
bucks for something that doesn't work.

It doesn't make people live longer, and the side effects
as advertised (and witnessed) are pretty bad. It shrinks
tumors but doesn't get rid of them. The doc undoubtedly
knows this, and I am quite certain that absent substantial
brainwashing he has little or no concern for the well-being
of this particular patient.

      Yield: 8 Servings

      3 lb Tripe (3 to 4 lbs)
      1    Piece honeycomb; be sure to
           -include
      6    Garlic cloves; bruised but
           -not peeled
      1 tb Peppercorns
      2    Sprigs thyme
      3    Bay leaves
      1 ts Sea salt
      1 cn White hominy; (28 ounce)
      1 bn Cilantro; leaves chopped
      1 bn Green onions; chopped
     12    Tomatillos; diced

  Rinse tripe under cold running water and cut large pieces into 1inch
  squares. Place the garlic, peppercorns, thyme, and bay leaves into a square
  of cheesecloth. Tie into a bundle. This is your bouquet garni. Place the
  tripe in a large stock pot with 4 quarts of hot water, the bouquet garni,
  and salt. Bring to a boil and skim foam if necessary. Reduce the heat and
  cook at a simmer for 2 to 3 hours or until tripe is tender. Add the canned
  hominy, liquid and all. Cook 15 minutes longer. About 10 minutes before
  serving, add the cilantro, green onions, and tomatillos. Remove the bouquet
  garni. Garnishes may include mild red chile sauce, ground chile powder,
  oregano leaves, chopped onions, or lime wedges, or sliced radishes.
