The Russian wheat crop has been in for a while, at 1/3 of last year's.

With the high prices resulting from the Russian short-fall, any grain
farmers who have a reasonable crop will do well.

If irrigated, why the failure?

The feed-lot cattle raisers must be desperate to pay that price.

Any long-range forecasts for next crop?

As the price of sugar has been dropping, the sugar farmers here are
grateful for the ethanol sales.

I don't think our Food regulators have heard of HFCS, or if they have,
they would probably think it is the name of a bank.  Obviously no one
has complained about it, so it can't be a problem.  Corn is a minor
crop here, and any local stuff is sold at about $4/kg as a vegetable.

      Title: Scallop Soup With Sweetcorn
 Categories: Medical, Soups, Seafood
      Yield: 4 servings
 
     15 g  Green peas; fresh
      4 c  Stock- chicken
    250 g  F- scallops
    2/3 c  Sweetcorn
 
  Shell the peas & simmer for 2 minutes. Drain.
  
  Bring the stock to the boil; add the scallops & cprn. Simmer for 3
  minutes, then add the peas & serve hot.
  
  This recipe is recommended for: EYE STRAIN
