I've not made it to the Smash Burger place yet. I will post a review when I do
go. But, that may be a bit as the location is off my main trade routes. Sort of
like Floogle Street in Poughkeepsie - you have to be going there to get there.

The only Five Guys I have visited was at Dullness International Aerodrome in
the home of the Big Steal Mill. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality,
pricing and service - most especially for airport food. If they maintain those
standards as they expand they will do well around here.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Smash Burger
 Categories: Beef, Vegetables, Breads
      Yield: 4 Servings

      4 tb Butter
      3 md Onions; peeled, sliced thin
           Salt & fresh ground pepper
      4    "Butter-Basted Burgers" *
      4 sl (thick) Gruyère
      1    Baguette; in 4" wide cuts,
           - then halved
           +=OR=+
      4    Whole grain hamburger buns;
           - split, toasted

  * Separate recipe

  In a large sauté pan, heat the butter over high heat. Add
  the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15
  minutes, until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Set
  aside and keep warm. Meanwhile, lay the cheese slices on
  the bottom half of the 4 baguette slices (or bun) and
  toast in a toaster oven or a broiler until the cheese is
  melted, keep warm.

  Cook the Butter-Basted Burgers in the same manner, but
  after flipping the burgers, add the cooked onions to each
  patty and press down with a spatula.

  Place the burgers on each of the remaining baguette halves
  (or bun), top with the onions and the melted cheese and
  bread slice. Enjoy!

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Butter-Basted Burgers
 Categories: Five, Beef
      Yield: 4 servings

      1 lb Ground beef chuck
      1 lb Ground sirloin
           Salt & fresh ground pepper
      4 tb Butter

  Heat a cast-iron griddle over high heat. When hot, add the
  butter then place the burgers in the melted butter. Cook
  for about 45 seconds to a minute, basting with the butter.
  Then flip, and continue basting for another 45 seconds to
  a minute and remove from heat (it will have crazy good
  flavor).
