Others, too. One thing is that unless his taster shuts down,
and he quits eating, he'll have plenty of sustenance.

I agree, but it's up to him. The incontinence issue, though
intermittent, is very embarrassing.

You could do what I do and keep a shaker of KCl around.

Problem is the juice without fiber makes a sugar spike,
which the whole orange does not.

One teaspoon would have been excessive for most. I went to
a Korean bbq the other day, and my friend Alan asked for the
Korean hot sauce (something-jang), so a little saucer with
an ounce or so came out. We and another friend fought over it,
and we ended up getting 5 saucers for half a pound of meat each.

As far as I have seen tell, it doesn't convey any advantage at all.

                 Red Onion Chile Relish with Lime & Basil

  Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method
  ----
   3                    red onion -- thinly sliced
   1      tablespoon    chili pepper -- minced
   1      tablespoon    sugar
     1/2  cup           lime juice
   3      tablespoons   fresh basil -- chopped
                        salt and pepper

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.  Will keep,
covered & refrigerated for about 4 days.
