Have you ridden in planes they were piloting from which they
coaxed things that their designers never knew or hoped were
possible? If not, pbththth.

And how many of your airplane drivers would like it if you
characterized them as "not real" to their faces? I'm sure
they would pbththth you too.

Pam Wolfe once told me that I and her husband were the only
ones she had ever met who had the talent to be able to make
music out of any piece of crap out of the woodyard. This was
probably not true (relatively true, perhaps); still, I have
no reason to believe any such about magic touches and so on.
Having reached a certain state in life I am more inclined to
believe that "there are old pilots, and there bold pilots,
but there are no old bold pilots."

I looked at DUIs and found some among professional racers; the
report is in a previous post in this packet.

That's not saying so much. I've not been on a racetrack, but I
am certainly quite uncomfortable on California freeways.
