JK> Ok, that makes sense. I realized (well, my daughter had to mention
JK> this to me) that as far as health food stores, well, there is a really
JK> big one and a smaller satellite store (same company), named GreenStar
JK> Coop. It's fantastic.. so much MORE than a health food store. Fresh
JK> local Chicken, fresh local vegetables and fruit, frozen beef and pork
JK> from local farms .. it's like Wegman's on Vitamins Lol.. seriously, I

And can take the place of the Farmers Market, as well, apparently.. :)

JK> was so impressed with how well the grocery and other parts of the
JK> store were stocked, we took out a membership at GreenStar ... Once
JK> you do that, you get a 'large' discount every time you checkout. We
JK> filled a cart, bought the most silly things at a whim (Sheep yogurt,
JK> NY Sharp cheese, cookies, macaroni, avocados, grapes, 3 bunches of
JK> fresh beets, fresh basil, fresh spinach, raided the fresh meat and
JK> frozen meat and more and more - too much to list, but the cart was
JK> overflowing even on the bottom (g)), and the total only came to
JK> $300.00 after the discount. That shopping cart at Wegman's probably
JK> would have hit the $500.00 mark..

lol That's a lot more than I'd ever get on one grocery trip... ;)
Without the discount, it probably would have been closer to what you'd
pay at Wegmans, though... Although you undoubtedly found some things
that even Wegmans wouldn't carry, and possibly at better quality...

JK> So now we don't even think of going to Wegmans.. I'm addicted to
JK> Greenstar :) :) I think if we work like 2 hours (either one of us),
JK> then we'll get another 10% off the total.. it's kind of insane..

It's a Co-operative after all... :) Do they carry paper products and
cleaning supplies, too, or would you need to go to Wegmans or the like
for that...?

JK> It's a real drag of a ride to Windsor, mostly because once you get
JK> behind a farm truck or really slow driver, you want to die since the
JK> passing zones are few and far between :( As it is, we are still going
JK> back more than we'd like just because we're working on getting the
JK> house ready to sell.. ah well.. eventually :)

I was thinking only about the leg as far as the Binghamton Wegmans, not
all the way to Windsor... ;) But, yes, I can see where the trip could
feel interminable when you get behind a slow driver or farm truck
(tractors are even worse, unless they pull over to let you get by)...
Eventually, that will all be in the past... unless you don't sell, and
decide to rent the house out... ;)

JK>> We were in the upper 80's .. close to 90, but never hit that high.
JK>> It was really hot in the sun though.. I'm hoping we don't get the
JK>> "September-DROP" like I remember as a kid.. It never bothered me when
NB>> From what I hear on our weather reports, this weekend is going to be
NB>> similar to that already up here... but I'm sure that it is only
 NB>> temporary at this point.
JK> Still pushing 85+ here.. yesterday it hit 87.. it's supposed to cool
JK> off to the mid 70's next week.. but I noticed there are still days
 JK> where they're calling for 80's.. Yay :)

/This/ weekend, we did get that september drop. Still quite cool today,
and predicted for tomorrow... you'd probably find it too cool with the
MS, since it isn't supposed to last long... By the end of the week we're
supposed to be getting back into at least the lower 80s... I'm rather
enjoying not having the temps so high for a while. :)

JK> I think you're right about gradual being better... And my legs do
JK> better in cold .. they don't "feel" better so much, but I walk better.
JK> High temperatures are one of the triggers for symptoms in MS for a
JK> lot (but not all) people.. In the Spring, all I can figure is, you've
JK> just had several months of bitter cold in Winter..just gotten adjusted
JK> to it, and boom.. one day it hits 60 or 70.. I guess compared to
JK> February and March's cold, when it warms up, it's like heat wave to my
 JK> botched internal thermometer :)

From what you've been saying, fast changes either way aren't easily
dealt with. Our year or so of seesaw weather can't have been easy on
you at all...

 JK> From http://www.elanaspantry.com/simple-bread/
 JK> ===Almond Flour Bread===
 JK> 2 1/2 cups blanched almond flour
JK> 1/2 teaspoon celtic sea salt
 JK> 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
 JK> 3 eggs
 JK> 1 tablespoon agave nectar
JK> 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

JK> I use reg. or some very light brown sugar, because I don't think
JK> agave nectar is such a great thing.. I might try a very light
 JK> maple syrup some day..

I haven't seen the agave nectar in the store yet, except at Lori's, and
haven't tried it out yet. But then I don't use a lot of sugar etc in my
cooking, and aren't baking much anymore either... From what I've heard,
agave nectar is a sugar that is less of a problem for (maybe some?)
diabetics, and may supply some sort of other nutrients (ala honey,
molasses etc) that refined sugars don't... my main encounter with it is
the agave ginger cashews I get from Lori's, and I think it may be the
sweetener used in some of their chocolate covered fruits... I'd guess
that the light maple syrup would be a good sub, though... :)
