They're not bad for a fats food "specialty" thing. There are a number of things
that the snatch & grabbit stands offer that one can do better at home - except
for the convenience factor. Now if I could figure out McDuck's French Fries at
home .....

But, it's probably a good thing I have not done so or I'd be required to wear a
yellow "WIDE LOAD" banner across my arse and a flashing yellow light on my

The Burger Snatcher where I got the last ones (Keokuk, Iowa) was offering a
"Double Stacker" for U$1.50. But, I was ready for bacon.

      Title: Bacon & Cheese-Stuffed Dates
 Categories: Fruits, Appetisers, Cheese, Pork
      Yield: 24 servings
 
      2 sl Bacon; crisp-cooked, drained
           - fine crumbled
           +=OR=+
    1/4 c  Chopped prosciutto
    1/4 c  Thin sliced green onion
      2 cl Garlic; minced
    1/2 c  Crumbled blue cheese
      3 oz Pkg cream cheese; softened
      2 ts Dijon-style mustard
    1/8 ts Ground black pepper
     24    Medjool dates; un-pitted
 
  Preheat oven to 350øF/175øC. In a medium bowl stir together
  bacon, green onions, and garlic. Add blue cheese, cream
  cheese, mustard, and pepper to bacon mixture. Stir to
  combine.
  
  Using a sharp knife, make a lengthwise slit in each date.
  Spread each date open slightly. Remove pits. Fill each date
  with a rounded teaspoon of the bacon mixture. Place dates
  filling sides up on a baking sheet. Bake, uncovered in the
  preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes or until heated through.
  Serve warm.
  
  Makes 24 appetizers.
  
  Make-ahead directions: Prepare as above, except do not bake
  the dates. Place stuffed dates in an airtight container,
  cover, and chill for up to 24 hours. Bake as directed just
  before serving.
