That mall is hideous. A temple to consumerism gone wild. We have a
friend who loves it. She lives within walking distance of it, works
there, eats almost all her meals there, goes to theatres and
nightclubs there. Her social life revolves around other store
clerks. I get the heebie-jeebies just going in to pick her
up at the end of the day. We also know a schizo homeless guy who
lives in the subterranean mechanical areas there along with a couple
dozen other people that the security guards can never find. There's
a little village down in the steam pipes and tunnels under the mall.

I don't like it but I share their love of champagne, brandy,
martinis and rum.

That's never been a problem for me even back in the day when massive
excess was the norm.


WP #3: Film Festivals... White people can't enough of Film
Festivals. Especially Sundance, Toronto, and Cannes. The reason why
they love them so much can be due to a number of factors.

Fact #1 - 90% of white people have taken a film class at some point
in their life.

Fact #2 - White people like feeling smart without doing work - 2
hours in a theater is easier than 10 hours with a book.

Fact #3 - If white people aren't going back packing, they generally
like to travel with a specific purpose.

Fact #4 - 75% of white people believe they either have the potential
to or will become filmmakers/screenwriters/directors at some point.

Fact #5 - White people hate stuff that is 'mainstream' - so they go
to film festivals where they see movies that every other person in
their demographic wants to see. It's a pretty sweet way to rebel.

Fact #6 - It is required by white person law, that you publicly
declare that foreign cinema is better than Hollywood Cinema, and on
par with Indie Film.

Fact #7 - White people earn credibility by being into film from
strange countries - "Oh you liked Batman? Yeah, I didn't see it, I'm
really into Serbian film now. They had a great retrospective at the
Vancouver Festival."

      Title: Andouille Joe's Cherry Bounce
 Categories: Preserving, Alcohol, Beverages, Cajun, Fruit
      Yield: 1 gallon
 
           Wild cherries
           Sugar
           Bourbon whiskey
 
  Layer alternately wild cherries and sugar in a gallon jar. Place
  plate on top of cherries inside the jar to weight them. Cover and let
  stand until the next day, when there will be a quantity of syrup
  present. Add wild cherries and sugar each day until the jar remains
  filled after standing overnight.  Cover, but don't stir.
  
  Place jar in pan as syrup might run over.  Store in cool place for six
  weeks.  Strain and add one quart whiskey. Bottle and serve when a real
  treat is desired.
