Ärende: Drying peppers

Hi Hap,

All events to keep you busy. Proms tho, at this time of year? I always
associate them with spring. Any good give aways at the trade shows or
don't you get to check them out?

-> Healthy holiday cooking? I'm probably not going to do too much this year

We're doing an early Thanksgiving with the group Steve is traveling with
in late November on an out of country mission trip. He wants to smoke a
turkey for our contribution, and I said I'd do a pickle assortment. I'll
be having dinner on the traditional day with some friends from church.

-> That's the truth! I tried cutting up an apple left handed today, had so
-> little strength I had to use the right hand instead. It wasn't pretty

And the doctor thinks the best therapy for it right now is just every
day use. Got the OK to use my rotary cutter so I did. (G) I've also done
a few light weight (Steve does the heavy stuff still.) batches of
dishes; the warm water is good on it too.

-> Soon as the new peppers come into season.

 HN> They have already been in season here.
 HN> I can get them "fresh" from the asian

I should be able to get some at the farmer's market tomorrow--picked
either today or very early tomorrow.

 HN> in your area. Have you tried to grow lemongrass
 HN> yet? My uncle (lives closer to the coast) grows

We're not much into lemongrass; we'll eat it in dishes prepared with it
but it's not one of our kitchen herbs. I've done more cooking with fresh
rosemary and thyme since we moved here than I have anywhere else we've
lived. That's because one of the previous tenants planted enough of both
of them to supply an army. We added oregano, and sage to the in ground
herbs, got some parsley in an outdoor window box. And, we still have a
few tomato blossoms, plus more ripening up on the plant yet.
