I was glad to see them go down, but it was a little

Question: did the Sox give up the season right at the
start? I wonder.

It was fine: he may well be the starting right fielder
for the Bombers next season.

Ah, pretty decent. Not much special, except that I'm
getting a little impulsive in small things, buying stuff
that I don't need, eating when I'm not hungry. Going
down the primrose path but in a puny way.

P.S. Zito is doing a great job again as I write.

servings: 6

1 1/2 lb stewing beef cut into 1 1/2" cubes (or short ribs)
1/4 c vinegar
6 peppercorns, crushed
3 cloves garlic, crushed
3 Tb cooking oil
1 onion, sliced
1/2 c tomato sauce
1 bay leaf
2 ts salt
1/2 ts MSG
1 ts sugar
1/2 c hot water
1/2 green pepper, cut into strips
1/2 red pepper, cut into strips
1 hot green pepper (or 1 ts tabasco)
2 oz liver sausage or 3 oz can liver spread
8 oz canned peas
Garnishes
2 hard boiled eggs, sliced
1/4 c stuffed olives

Marinate beef 1-2 hr in vinegar, peppercorn, and garlic.
Drain. Brown in hot oil a few pieces at a time. Set aside.

Wilt onions in remaining fat in skillet. Return beef to
skillet. Add tomato sauce, bay leaf, salt, MSG (optional),
sugar, and hot water. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook
until beef is tender. Add all peppers. Cover and simmer
10 min. Add liver paste and green peas. Stir and cook
another 5 min. Garnish with eggs and olives.
