Hi Nancy,

LOL :) Well, the next day we skipped breakfast except for the requisite
coffee, and had the leftovers that we'd doggy-bagged for lunch.

Well, funny, I got the restaurant name wrong .. it was the BoatYard Grill.
Somehow I think both are related, though.

For Ron, our next-day lunch was 1 filet mignon with Seasoned shrimp on top, and
for me, it was 2 blue crab stuffed shrimp :) and yes, we still felt
'not-hungry'.

I'm trying to remember how many filets of beef with shrimp Ron got with his
entre, potatoes and spinach, but it was only two :) That tells you how
stuffed we were by then :) I was sure I saw 4 on his dish.

For me, my blue crab stuffed shrimp was four (very large shrimp) stuffed with
parmesan, with sherry lobster sauce, and a bed of delicately seasoned brown
rice topped off with raw spinach. I ate 2 of them and really forced the last
one...

Now before that we'd already eaten a bit.. we each had an incredibly filling
cup of white clam chowder (with whole clams, I swear). This was so thick, at
first observation I was bothered.. I'm used to "normal" white clam chowder. But
this was very very thick, and after the first spoon, I dispelled that thought
and thought it was perfect with it's lightly cooked pototato dice .. It was
served bread made in Ithaca at the table with incredibly seasoned green butter
(basil? no, not sure what it was seasoned with ;)), and then came: a triple
tier antipasto tray consisting of fried calamari with fiery seasoned tomato
sauce, raw Shrimp and cocktail sauce and a interstingly seasoned remoulade
sauce, and third layer, STEAMED CLAMS Lol.. we sure wolfed those down hahaha So
by the time the main course arrived we were ready to float I think Lol.
Originally we'd ordered the triple tray of antipasto as the first course.. but
they needed "10 minutes" to do that, so we had the soup first.

Interestingly, I saw _today_ that this week is "Restaurant Week" in Ithaca.. so
while we didn't enjoy any of those bonuses, we can return for 9.95 lunch this
week.. or a $20 three-course dinner at the BoatYard Grill.. So we're planning
a re-visit tomorrow night :)

> Sounds like you and Ron had an enjoyable experience there for sure. :)

Yes, Food was great, and the atmosphere was great. We sat in a little cubby,
not cut off from the rest of the patrons, but private none-the-less.

>> he likes most spicy-hot foods.. go figure (g).

> The spicier the better, eh...? :) Vindaloo does have that rep... ;)

Yes, the only trouble for him would be "meat" of any type..he'd really rather
"just not" (grin). He'll eat it, but with an expression of "eh.. again" .. :)

>> That's quite an increase :) We had quite a load this year in
>> Slaterville Springs.. we didn't count, but we used every bag of candy
>> we picked up at Wegman's (usually we grab 4 or 5).

> Guess you had people stopping from the highway...

Yes, they seemed to stop in droves Lol.. you know the type.. one rings the
doorbell and there's like 10 or 15 behind him/her :) Over and over again. Well,
that is how it was in Windsor too.. I guess I was just hoping for a boring
quiet Halloween (grin).

> I'd not have thought
> there'd be that many that would live right there in Slaterville Springs,
> unless it's a lot bigger than it appears.. :)

It's interesting to compare the Town of Windsor to the Town of Caroline
(Slaterville springs as a village, town or whatever is non-existent really
(g)). it's in the town of Caroline) is interesting. Caroline: 2,910 people
Windsor: 6,421 people

Now where we've lived when we were in Windsor was in a real "village" as far
as incorporated villages go. Caroline has very few of them, as far as I know...
and Slaterville Springs with it's population of what.. 80 people seems way to
small :) I dunno thought it was a LITTLE bigger Lol.

>>> I don't think Ithaca has a trader joe's but I could be wrong there :)
>> They're slowly spreading east. When we were in HI, every time we went to
>> AZ we'd hit them up.
>> I see that they are in parts of NYS, and in NJ and CT.. but not in
>> Ithaca.. eventually I suppose they'll make it here.

> They've made it to Rochester (as I mentioned earlier in this batch)...
> can Ithaca be far behind...? (G)

Maybe it depends on the cost of realestate :) In Ithaca-major, very very
high.. but in off-roads in the area like where various malls are, it's much
better...

Anyway I think you're right :)

Take care,
Janis
