Ours (WXXI) is even more convoluted... WXXI AM/FM/TV, WXXY (Houghton),
WRUR (which is/was the campus station for Univ of Roch, and has some of
their own programming and most of the jazz), and the occasional
simulcast with WITH (Ithaca), and ReachOut Radio (which reads for the
blind etc)...  Houghton and RUR get the NPR news programs along with
XXI-AM, but Houghton otherwise gets the classical programming.  AM has
some jazz on the weekends.  It all started with TV, not affiliated with
any of our fine educational outfits, just a community project...

We've been members of WXXI ever since we got married...  I do listen
sometimes to a commercial classical station out of Canada, which I can
get in the car, especially during some operas or when the begging gets
too frantic... ;)

Not a fan of country myself, either, although my baby sister loves it. 
Over the years, there have been quite a few turnabouts in formats... I
don't really stay on top of it, since I'm not usually listening to the
other stations...

Sounds like it kept you awake at LEAST long enough to unload the
trailer...  ;)
