I had to deal with a bat tonight.  One got into the house somehow.  I don't
think it was in the house long, fortunately.  It made a thunk on the
kitchen floor, stunning itself.  My cat stalked it but as far as I know
didn't touch.  The thing took off after a while and flew around the living
room for a minute before eventually finding the door I'd opened.  Now I'm
scaring myself by reading about rabies transmission.  

-> If you have a good tool for the floors.  The one with my vaccuum isn't

The bare hose works well for that.

I do something similar in asian groceries.  I have to buy at least one
thing I don't recognize when I go in.

My dad had been working, going to school, and working since high school. 
He worked his way through. He wasn't paying rent, so a lot of it went into
a bank account.  You can't do that now.

That's what I thought too.  It's definitely improvement, at least
relatively.  I'll never really feel "good" again, but there's degrees of
that too.
