Ain't it the truth. My feats sound as though I made
them up, the good ones, the bad ones, the stupid ones.

I calculate each one. My threshold may be lower than
most, but within my parameters I am pretty adventurous,
as I have this notion that if I have a 99% chance of
survival, I can do this indefinitely ... but of course
if I do this 100 times, the survival rate works out to
a little under 37%. But life is short, and I want to
get a bunch out of it.

Life sux, then you die. I have seen so many references,
mostly in religious/philosophical literature but also
in general writing, in so many cultures, about the fact
that one should long for death because that means the
end of pain and suffering in this vale of tears.
"Dear God, when will I die?" is a recurring theme.
Makes me think that my life is relatively jolly, by
historical standards.

Nepali Meat Masala
categories: Nepal, spice
Yield: 1 batch

2 Tb cumin seeds
2 Tb coriander seeds
1 Tb dried garlic
1 Tb dried ginger
2 dried bay leaves
10 dried red chilies
1 Tb timur (Szechwan pepper)
1 Tb black peppercorn
1 Tb turmeric
5 cloves
5 cardamom pods
1 Tb grated nutmeg
1/4 ts asafetida

On a pan roast cumin, coriander, timur, black
peppercorn, cloves and cardamom pods until seeds
start to pop and change color. Reserve on a dry
sheet of paper to allow cooling. Grind all
roasted and other remaining spices into a fine
powder. Store in an airtight container. This
meat masala is commonly used in meat preparations.
