Never thought of that as a fix...  It had been baking in the oven,
covered, fairly low temp, for a number of hours, while first I waited
for someone to finish a nap and then we went off to do the week's
grocery shopping.  For once, I had cooked the turkey thighs separately
instead of on top as I would have, since it looked more wet than usual
after the mix was added and settled, so there wasn't that additional
juice and fat.  But, while nicely browned, it still didn't look all that
dry, and on the plate, what can I say, it was gloopy...  (G)  I didn't
measure out the butter, just did it by eye, and I tossed in a bunch of
baby portobella pieces along with the bag of minced onions and celery.
I had a cup+ of leftover juices and butter from a couple of previous
meals (the juices from pan-frying chicken gizzards and hearts, and the
juices from sauteing mushrooms and adding a can of artichoke hearts
including brine) that I also tossed in.  The recipe on the box called
for over 4 cups of water, so I added a box (4 cups) of Wegmans chicken
stock... I did almost hold back about a cup or so from the carton, but
then added it after all... that probably was the real mistake.  But, as
I said, it tasted fine, and finished absorbing the fluids while it sat
in the fridge, awaiting its repeat appearance... :)

Sometimes almost surprising how much other senses play into eating...
I don't remember that story, so can't help on the author/title or
vintage... nice morality tale...  :)
