I don't know why this method isn't taught to all - if they
brought back Home Ec and exposed kids to such techniques,
we'd have better nutrition on the general level.

And roast the seeds, too! Last night my friend Josy cooked dinner
- she's about as undomestic as they come, and certainly doesn't
have to pinch pennies by any stretch, but she had made roast
pumpkin seeds for me, and they were major yum. She married her
first cousin ... her husband's parents were first cousins and some
kind of cousin to her parents ... her husband's paternal grandparents
were also first cousins. Something about keeping wealth in the family.

      Title: Pastai Persli (Parsley Pie) Welsh
 Categories: Pasta
      Yield: 4 servings

      4 oz Shortcrust pastry                   1 tb Chopped parsley
      1 x  Desertspoon full plain flour        2 oz Choped streaky bacon
    1/2 pt Milk                                1 x  Seasoning
      2 ea Eggs

  Cold boiled bacon may be used instead of streaky bacon.
  Line a flan ring or pie dish with the prepared pastry and bake it blind
  in a hot oven.  Gas Mark 6 (400F) for 15 minutes.
  Blend the flour with a little milk.  Break the eggs into a basin and beat
  well, add the blended flour and remaining milk, seasoning and parsley.
  Put the bacon (lightly fried if you are using streaky) into the pastry
  case and pour over the egg mixture.  Bake at Gas Mark 3 (325F) for 30-35
  minutes.
