Hi Nancy,

>> Possibly.. or that at times I'm willing to relax my standards a bit. (G)

Yeah no doubt.. but probably from when we were first married .. :)

Mom did try making her own Chinese food - it was great since she worked at a
day care as the school nurse with a Chinese woman who told her where to get
"real ingredients" and gave her recipes. This was back in the late 60's/early
70's. Mom had such an aversion to canned food (probably from the depression
era) she never bought any "dinners".. she wouldn't even buy frozen tv dinner
type dinners :) That I think was because honest to God, dad had to have
macaroni or spaghetti any time he was not on call at the Hospital :) Those
nights when he'd have to work a double shift or whatever meant we could eat
"other" food Lol.. like potatoes.. I'm serious :)

Understand.. but sushi is very easy to make and there are so many books out
with how-to's - as long as they have the proper ingredients (sushi rice, rice
wine, nori, etc.) I can't imagine it could be bad.. well you know what I mean
(grin).

>> If that weren't the only Wegmans in the Ithaca area, I'd be wondering

> Well, that should help keep them open anyway... ;)

Yeah.. busy is good :) One thing I've learned with shopping at Wegman's here
is you can't really "stockup" with ingredients for more than several days. It's
a little pia for me but just some adjustment needed.. When we lived in Windsor,
and shopped at the Binghamton Wegmans we'd do a big shopping jaunt maybe every
2 weeks.. run to the local BigM for milk, bread, when we ran out, that kind of
thing.. meat got frozen, most fresh veggies stored like potoatoes, onions, etc.
If I let things sit for two weeks here, well they rot.. so I just have to cook
everything we buy that week.. pia Lol

Definitely... it's all over though. The temptation to stick out a foot has
been kept in check thus far (vbg)

I wish this was a "town" where we lived Lol.. at least Windsor had that BigM
Market (reminicent of very early ShopRite stores, did you have those over
there?)

There is a post office here, but catch this.. it is in a shed kinda
manufactured home .. It's not even a real building :) :)

..Ordering Sushi fish

Makes sense..Even they don't want to lose $$ with fish going bad.

Sure seems like it, doesn't it.. :) I don't mind so much.. but wish I could
combine all the good parts with "today" Lol

Take care,
Janis
