Hi Janis                3/19/2013

We got an Email [two, actually] from Gail asking us to reply to the Picnic
inquiry.  We would love to come down, God willin' and the creek don't rise.

We will just be getting home from a 3 or 4 day [can't remember] bus tour on
Friday the 12th.  I might well be a bit pooped and would not want to plan
driving to Ithaca on Saturday.   We therefor will try to drive down on
Sunday morning, and drive home Monday.

We would miss the Picnic if it's on Saturday.  Shipps suggested we ask if
the picnic could be on Sunday.  I fear that might not be so good for
others, though. A minority shouldn't usually prevail.   But I guess it
won't hurt to ask how all the other attendees feel about that?  Please be
honest, my skin can be as thick as necessary.  

So, what say folks?

We are doing well.  Butch is still recovering from hurting her knee before
Xmas.  The knee is still swollen a bruised a bit, but Doctors say time will
cure it.  Other than that she's still my loving child bride.

I am getting older [83 for the Picnic] and fatter, [bigger belly now] but
my many diagnosis haven't interfered much with my life... damn lucky there!

I'm fully recovered from pile driving my chest into a church railing a week
or two after Xmas.  I can't believe I could slam into a low railing so hard
and not break my breast bone or ribs.  Got off with a Deep Wall chest
bruise. [doctor's Caps]

be Mongolian for 'stir fry', eh?]

 ---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.02
  
       Title: GREAT WALL OF CHINA CHICKEN
  Categories: Chinese, Chicken, Microwave
       Yield: 6 servings
  
       1 lb Boneless chicken breasts
       2 tb Oil, divided use
       4 tb Reduced sodium soy sauce,
            -divided use
       4 c  Sauerkraut (about 2 lb),
            -rinsed and well drained
       4    Green onions including tops
       4 md Carrots, julienned
       2    Cloves garlic, halved
       1 ts Ground ginger
       4 oz Fresh snow peas, stemmed and
            -cut in half diagonally
  
   Cut chicken into 1&#8243; cubes and place in a 3 quart
   casserole. Add 1 Tb oil. Cover with lid or vented
   plastic wrap. Stirring midway through cooking,
   microwave on high 5 to 6 minutes, or until no longer
   pink. Stir in sauerkraut and 2 Tb soy sauce; set aside.
   
   Slice green onion tops; set aside. Thinly, slice white
   part of onions and place in a 1 quart casserole with
   carrots, garlic, ginger and 2 Tb soy sauce. Cover with
   lid or vented plastic wrap; microwave on high 4 to 5
   minutes.
   
   Stir the carrot mixture into the sauerkraut mixture.
   Place the snow peas on top. Cover again and microwave
   on high 4 minutes or until steaming. Stir and serve.
   Makes 6 servings.
