And so you were saved from a boring non-healthy diet... :)  Just had to
put a bit more thought into how to do it inexpensively and quickly...

I know of some too... at least, I think there's less of a cultural push
that way nowadays... and more likely that a helping husband doesn't get
mocked...  :)

Daddy was a college professor, and he also was away on church related
trips, but when he was home, he helped out... may have been partly
because he grew up with an really absent father, who was a naval officer
on board ship... we've heard tales of his mom driving the boys up and
down the seaboard to meet dad's ship in port, and of her taking them
home to have her mom and sisters help with them... I suspect he learned
to do quite a few things for himself that way...  :)

Even that can be a help... :)

Just have to think of them as Half-sandwich slices, and pile the innards
accordingly... :)
