Yep, Grants, Ames, Hills, Big Wheel, along with the Gold circle, Two
guys and Fields, I forgot about Big N, But remember them now that You
mentioned them. There was another one too, it began with a z, but I
can't think of it now. Those and the old savings stamp stores and the
catologue stores like Naum Brothers and Present company. All just
memories now for the most part.

There was a time, when they were quality.. Our Company in it's early
years used to make refrigerators for them. They Demanded quality higher
than any other company. They would buy and pay for that high quality and in
return We would put their Kenmore names on the product. I don't know if
that is the case anymore. The period in the late 80's and early 90's was
when I discovered that quality was not important anymore. Anything I
bought was defective and had to be returned or repaired. I just never
had the guts to try them out again. They may have improved and brought
back their quality. They were hurting for awhile. I hope they woke up. A
lot of history there.

 Yep, Me too. I think there is about 6 or 7 in our area, and the only
 nice one that I have been to, is in Geneseo.

Chocolate Banana Parfaits
 
Ingredients
 
    1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
    1 0.8-ounce box sugar-free chocolate pudding mix
    2 medium bananas
    1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
    1/4 cup reduced-fat frozen dairy whipped topping
    unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 tablespoon chopped walnuts (optional)
    4 fresh raspberries (for garnish)


Directions

Follow directions on pudding.  Fold in yogurt.
Cut each banana into 6 pieces on the diagonal. Sprinkle 
with lemon juice. Place 2 banana quarters in each of 4 
dessert parfait glasses or goblets. Top with 1/4 of the
pudding mix. Top each with 1 tablespoon whipped topping.
Using a fine sieve, sift a little cocoa powder on top of 
each serving. Sprinkle with walnuts and add a raspberry 
on top, if using.

Nutrition Information
Per serving: 138 calories (18% calories from fat),
4 g protein, 3 g total fat (1.3 g saturated fat), 
25 g carbohydrates, 2 g dietary fiber, 
4 mg cholesterol, 336 mg sodium

Diabetic exchanges: 1 1/2 carbohydrate (1/2 bread/starch, 1 fruit)
