Yep - not for me, though. About the furthest I go is my Xmas season cookies
when I make up batches of Sandies with green chile (jalapeno) powder and red
(cayenne) chile powder. Not enough to light anyone's tree ornaments but enough
to let you know that it's got chile in it.  Bv)=

Doug and Andy Barnhart are extreme chile-heads ... whereas I (and many others)
are much more moderate.

      Title: Holiday Pecan Sandies
 Categories: Cookies, Nuts, Chilies
      Yield: 48 (or so) co
 
MMMMM------------------------BASE COOKIES-----------------------------
      2 c  Butter; softened
      1 c  Confectioner’s sugar
      2 tb Water
      4 ts Vanilla extract
      4 c  Flour
      2 c  Pecans; chopped

MMMMM-----------------------GREEN COOKIES----------------------------
      2 tb Pure ground jalapeno
           Green food colouring
           Green sugar sprinkles

MMMMM------------------------RED COOKIES-----------------------------
      1 tb Fine ground cayenne
           Red food colouring
           Red sugar sprinkles
 
  In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add water and
  vanilla; mix well. Gradually add flour; fold in pecans.
  Divide dough in half.
  
  Add the ingredients for each colour cookie to the halves
  of mix. Do not increase the amounts of ground chile - we
  do not want to light up anyone here. Just let them know
  this is a chile-head recipe.
  
  Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased baking
  sheets and flatten with fingers. Bake at 300øF/150øC for
  20 - 25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
  
  When cool, dust with confectioners' sugar and sprinkle
  with appropriate colour sprinkles.

      Title: Chocolate Chile Cookies
 Categories: Snacks, Desserts, Chocolate, Chilies
      Yield: 1 Recipe
 
      1 lg Egg
    115 g  Sifted plain flour
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Baking powder
    115 g  Butter; room temp
    100 g  Soft brown sugar
           4o g  Oats
     80 g  Chocolate; your choice, in
           - chunks
    1/2 ts To 1 ts chile powder
           +=AND/OR=+
    1/2    To 3 fresh chilies; chopped,
           - seeded
 
  Put all of the ingredients apart from the chocolate in
  your food processor and whizz up until smooth and creamy
  then mix in the chocolate chunks.
  
  Place the dough on some cling film and wrap up into a
  sausage shape, about 3-5 cm in diameter (depends on how
  many cookies you want to make and how big you want them)
  
  Place dough in freezer for half an hour. While the dough
  is chilling pre heat your oven to 175øC/350øF.
  
  When the dough is chilled, slice with a sharp knife and
  place on some grease proof paper on a baking tray making
  sure you leave plenty of space between the cookies as they
  will double in size.
  
  Bake in the oven for 8-10 mins until golden, allow to cool
  a bit before eating as they are a bit too crumbly when
  hot.
