I think you are quite right...  We had called ahead and asked about
reserving, since we had a number of handicapped in our group.  They had
a table ready for us right at the foot of the stairs when we got there,
so we had no wait (except for those parking cars).  But there was an
ongoing line waiting...

Agreed.  Probably it does depend somewhat on what the reasoning for
becoming a vegetarian is/was, and if those reasons or their underlying
causes change... And there will also probably always be those that are
willing to eat vegetarian on occasion...  Whether that maintains the
critical mass for keeping all the vegetarian restaurants in business
might be another story... ;)
