My mom was going to summer school while I was in high school, plus one
night a week college an hour away, working on her master's degree.
That's the time I learned to cook.

I didn't have to haul laundry across campus but far enough that it was
nice to have facilities in the dorm, especially on days when weather was
miserable. Having the dining facility in the dorm was nice those times
too but with the arraingement at the campus center, we got to eat with a
wider assortment of people.

 RH> They must have updated your wiring since the 50s.

This house was built in the late 1990s so wiring should have been put in
to a modern code. OTOH, the one place where we lived in Swansboro was
built in the 40s (?) and had a total of 4 outlets, 2 in the kitchen.
Steve wired in several more while we lived there, including some to take
heavier duty loads. We acquired a freezer, washer and dryer while living
there.
