I was able to use the little bottle of Fleet's Phospho-Soda to prepare
for both of mine. Ruth had to use the gallon bottle of GoLytely (which
is anything but). I understand that the FDA has approved Prepopik, which
may be easier to use like Phospho-Soda, but without the risk to the
kidneys.

The first one, I was lightly sedated, but was really fully awake and
could see what was going on. It was a bit uncomfortable, but it was
interesting. The second time, I was not given a choice. I was out like a
light. I guess they hit me a bit heavy because it took me 45 minutes to
wake up afterward.

For this most recent surgery, it took me about 6 hours to fully wake-up
(I think). That is based on the surgery being over about noon. I did not
feel anything resembling alert until 6:00 p.m.

Would it be better to use less-ripe bananas in this or should they be to
the spotted stage?

      4 lg Bananas
    1/4 c  Pineapple juice
      1 ts Honey
    1/8 ts Nutmeg; fresh, grated

    Preparation time:  5 minutes    Baking time: 25 minutes
    Per serving:  119 calories, .06 g. fat (4% of calories), 1.8 g.
    dietary fiber, no cholesterol, 1 mg. sodium.
    With a sharp knife, remove the stem end from each banana. Remove a
    1" wide strip of peel down the length of each.
    In a small bowl, combine the pineapple juice, honey and nutmeg.
    Brush the exposed banana flesh with the juice mixture.  Arrange the
    bananas in a shallow baking dish.  Bake at 300 degrees F., basting
    occasionally with the juice, for 25 minutes, or until the bananas
    are softened.
