Apparantly, but at some point it will all of a sudden be barren looking
and we'll have to put in water jugs to fill the "dead" space.

Somebody didn't know what they were losing and you were gaining.

Basically, something to wrap around as a comforter is the idea. We're
making some specifically bed sized for a new housing program starting
for homeless vets. Wake County is the national pilot for it and QoV was
asked to do the quilts.

-> took several hours but worth it in the long run.  After I finish this
-> top, I'm going to do a 9 Patch, laid out in a 9 x 9 setting, with
-> sashing.

 RH> Nine patch isn't my usual thing, but I've done them.

I've done some but more for teaching than as an entire quilt. I'm doing
traditional patterns for the QoV project ones; it just seems to fit.


-> I tried something new with asparagus the other day; Steve said it's a
-> keeper. Using the thin stalks, I cooked them in the microwave until
-> done, but not mushy. Drained the water off, then mixed up half canola
-> oil, half (dark) balsamic vinegar with Italian seasoning herbs, garlic,
-> salt & pepper and poured it over the asparagus. Popped it into the
-> fridge, served cold. I might sub out lemon olive oil and white balsamic
-> vinegar next time for a lighter flavor.

 RH> Sounds yummy.  I've been known to stir-fry it with soy sauce or
 RH> teriyaki before too.

I usually just steam it and serve it with butter but wanted to try
something different. The above is somewhat similar to something I had in
Germany years ago but it was done with white asparagus. The lemon olive
oil & white balsamic will come closer to the taste of what I had but the
other combo was a good tasting trial.
