I hope not, I think they are snubbing Besser and referring to the nice
Guy, Joe DeRita. Besser did a few shorts, DeRita did the movies in the
late 50's early 60's. You probably would remember Besser from stuff like
Abbott and Costello. He hated the boys, but did not mind getting money
for working with them. His contract was set up so no ad lib slaps were
allowed, if any at all. I recall Moe saying in one of his books, That
Besser was attending a large party. They had been working all day and
all were at the party that evening. Moe tried to be cordial, despite
knowing Besser did not like him. ( He thought the stooges were no talent
Bums compared to his talent ) Moe said he was standing right next to him
at the urinal of all places, said Hello, and Joe would not even speak to
him. That is the kind of relationship he had with the boys. He was a
studio ham and the studio forced him down Moe and Larry's throats,
against their will. You may recall when he did get slapped, he'd go
Ouuuuuuch That Hurrrrts! I'd love to slap him myself. 8-) That's why
they went to DeRita in the movies, but although a nice guy, he could not
hold a candle to Curly and Shemp, But I think that is who they mean when
they say Fat Clone Joe. Joe shaved his head like Curly. Joe just passed
away a few years back..

Mushroom Pepper Omelette that Keeps You going all Morning.


Ingredients

    1/4 cup chopped green onions
    1/4 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
    1/4 cup chopped green pepper
    2 tablespoons butter, divided
    5 eggs
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Directions

    In a large nonstick skillet, saute the onions, mushrooms and green
    pepper in 1 tablespoon butter until tender. Remove and keep warm.
    In the same skillet, melt remaining butter over medium-high heat.
    Whisk the eggs, salt and pepper. Add egg mixture to skillet (mixture
    should set immediately at edges).
    
As eggs set, push cooked edges toward the center, letting uncooked
portion flow underneath. When the eggs are set, spoon vegetable mixture
on one side and sprinkle with cheeses; fold other side over filling. Cut
in half. Yield: 2 servings
