MR> Hi Dave.. I did not catch the first part of this thread. So I don't
MR> know all that was said. But Mustang had sent out an email to someone, I
MR> am not sure who Sean was talking about. But they told This someone to
MR> go out and crack it or they pointed him to the crack, I don't remember
MR> exactly, although I read the email. It was perfectly fine with them.

I was talking when I should have been listening, it seems. I am a semi-reformed
pirate who finally saw the light. So, I tend to be a bit evangelical. In this
case I lambasted Ferd over a non-event. I don't, however, understand why his
codes work in Windows 7 and not in Vista -- except that VERY LITTLE works right
in Vista ... the 1948 Tucker of operating systems.

MR> They were not going to make any more money off of it and were not going
MR> to sell the source. I tried the crack as I was a registered Qmodem user
MR> years ago and lost my reg numbers when I left the hobby for a few
MR> years. The crack worked just fine and got my Qmodem back again. Other
MR> than the fact it is windowed ( something I just personally do not like
MR> ) it is still a great program. handles dial up and telnet and is still
MR> the only one, despite claims of syncterm being able to handle ansi
MR> music, qmodem still actually does.

I don't need the ANSI music capability. But, it sounds like an interesting
program ... one I may give a whirl as Hyper-Term is the best of the stuff I
have test flown ... including Syncterm and Putty. For my purposes anyway. At
that, they're all leaps and bounds ahead of the old VT-100 based stuff from the
last century that I cut my teeth on.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Terminal Illness Onion Pie
Categories: Pies, Pastry, Vegetables, Cheese, Dairy
      Yield: 6 Servings

1 lg Sweet onion; sliced 1/2"
      2 Ribs celery; sliced
           Butter
      3 lg Eggs
      1 c Milk
    1/4 c Plain flour
1/8 ts (ea) ground cloves, ginger,
           - Colman's mustard, paprika
1/4 ts (ea) Salt and pepper
      1 lb Shredded yellow cheese

Peel a large sweet onion and either slice it into half-inch
slices or chop it into little pieces, whichever you like.
Not a bad idea to also chop up a couple of stalks of celery,
too. Put some butter into a skillet and cook the vegetables
until the onion pieces turn clear.

Mix eggs with milk and flour. Add ground cloves, ginger, dry
mustard, and paprika. Toss in about salt and black pepper.
  Mix all to smoothness.

  Line a 13" x 9" x 2" baking pan with pie crust. Poke some
holes in the crust with a fork. Put a thick layer of cooked
onion onto the crust. If you enjoy meat, chop up some cooked
beef, pork, or chicken and put that over the onions. Pour
the egg mixture into the pan. Cover everything with 1 pound
of shredded cheese (most any kind you like). Some folks
might prefer to make little round pies in little round
  pans... that is OK, too.

Bake at 350øF for about 1 hour or until the pie is nicely
browned. If you made the things in little round pans, you
are on your own as to timing. we never made them that way.

Tastes great when you eat this pie with almost any kind
  of meat.
