Good pineapple can be rather sweet all on its own...  :)

Only if you happen to have the leftover grated stuff again that needs
using to avoid wasting...  probably not all that likely... ;)

Most family gatherings I've been at have had both sweet and white
potatoes... then there's something for everyone... and some will have
both kinds...  :)

Worth the experiment, anyway... :)   Maybe skip the sugar altogether? 
With my apple allergy, I'd not go for applesauce myself any more... but
I could see that working...  :)
