I keep a mechanically powered flashlight in the car in the winter
time. It works by shaking, using the principle of linear induction;
a sliding magnet moves back and forth through a solenoid, a spool of
copper wire. The induced current charges a capacitor which powers a
small high intensity white LED array. Shaking 30-40 seconds gives me
4-5 minutes of light.

I'm not embarrassed. Nobody can embarrass me but me. FWIW I went
from engineering to sales and for me that was a good thing.

My 1994 computer died a long time ago. It was a 486-33 purchased
cheaply after the 486-50 and the first Pentiums hit the market.

The previous one was a 286 bought in 1986 after the 386s were
introduced.

We currently have an 02 Taurus bought in 04, a 98 Camry (used to be
Ray's) and a 97 Honda mini-van (used to be Raine's). The 92 Taurus
that I sold for $500 in 04 to a relative of a relative is still on
the road but the mid 70s pick up truck finally went to the auto
graveyard.

In that context, what's a Charlie? (I can guess.)

Why a private hospital? Is there a long wait list at the public
ones?
