There is oxidation on the laptop's connector. The brick has
one of those multitips that could be easily be replaced, and
I'd rather it were that, but it doesn't seem to be.

Acer Travelmate 6292. After a long break-in, it has proven to
be exceedingly hardy if at times temperamental. Not a thing
of beauty but at least a joy sometimes

  had to replace a connector for a laptop not too

I might have to have that done. The entire far left corner has
issues, with the Ethernet port also dead. There's a hairline
crack at the connector.

I've always done this periodically and have always propped the
laptop up with a book or sometimes with the brick itself to
get additional clearance and airflow. Why don't manufacturers
make an enhanced wedge-shaped battery pack to provide this
from the start?


Stuffed Roti
categories: Nepal, breads
Yield: 1 batch

h - For Roti
3 c whole wheat flour, sifted
1 Tb melted butter
1/2 c warm milk
1/2 c warm water or as needed
1 Tb sugar
1 ts salt
h - For Stuffing
1 lb ground lamb (chicken can also be used)
1 c finely chopped scallion
1 ts garlic, minced
1 ts ginger, minced
2 Tb chopped cilantro
1 ts turmeric
1 Tb curry powder
Salt and Pepper
2 Tb cooking oil 

To prepare lamb stuffing, heat 2 Tb oil in a saute pan. Add
turmeric, garlic, ginger and curry powder; fry for 1 min.
Add lamb and saute until cooked. Add chopped scallion and
cilantro; mix well. Take off the heat and allow cooling.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, salt and
sugar. Make a well in the center and add warm water and milk,
mixing it with the flour until a soft dough is formed. Dust
kneading board with flour; place the dough on the board and
knead 10 min. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 1 hr.
Divide the dough into 3" balls. Roll out the dough balls
into 5" circles. Spread 2 Tb lamb stuffing at the centre of
the roti. Fold edges over to create a half circle, enclosing
the stuffing. Sprinkle flour on the board and gently roll
out the stuffed roti into a 6" half circle. Continue with
other dough balls. Cover with plastic wrap.

Heat a cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat. Place a roti
on the skillet, cook for 1 min or so. Turn over and cook
another minute until brown blisters emerge. Turn it over
once more and cook for 1 min until stuffed meat is cooked.
Keep the finished stuffed rotis warm in a towel as you
continue to prepare other rotis. Note that stuffed rotis
can also be baked in a hot tandoor which is commonly used
in Nepal. Brush rotis lightly with melted butter and serve
hot with vegetable or meat preparations.
