There have been stories, Stepford Wives, Pod People, that
sort of thing. I'm not the only one who has had this idea.

Semi-trained monkeys. And the system was designed (?) to
support a medium-size operation, not what was for a while the
largest airline in the world.

Not something you'd want to become acquainted with. Mike at
the Philadelphia United Club said "it's not so bad"; the guy
at the Admiral's Club in Dallas actually winced when he
poured me a shot.

One would like to think so, but the crowds were certainly
big. One thing is that Hitler originally hid his direction
somewhat, merely spouting the usual nationalistic and mildly
racist platitudes and promising jobs for all. The really
vicious stuff was not at the forefront at first.

Leek pancakes with sweet potatoes in a chive sour cream sauce
cat: airline, starter, vegetarian, dairy
Serves: 12

h - For the pancakes
2 lb sweet potatoes, peeled
3 leeks, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, sliced
2 Tb chopped parsley
2 Tb chopped basil
2 eggs
1/4 c coarse breadcrumbs
1 heaping Tb flour
1 ts salt
1 pn finely crushed pepper
h - For the chive sour cream sauce
1 c 27 percent sour cream
2 heaping Tb unflavored cream cheese
1 Tb freshly chopped chives
1 Tb olive oil
1 pn salt
1 ds pepper

PANCAKES
Cook the sweet potatoes in water until completely soft;
place in a strainer for at least 5 hr to release as much
liquid as possible. Sauté the leeks lightly until golden
in a bit of olive oil in a frying pan. In a large bowl,
add all the ingredients except the leeks to the sweet
potatoes and mix, then incorporate the leeks. Form
individual pancakes and grill them with a dash of olive
oil on a large, broad, non-stick frying pan for 1 min
on each side.

CHIVE SOUR CREAM SAUCE
Combine all the ingredients and chill.

PRESENTATION
When serving, the sauce should be especially cold and the
pancakes very hot. Plate pancakes and serve with sauce.
