I didn't get to see too many episodes with the first doctor (William Hartnell)
so I have formed no opinion of his character.

Allegedly the Doctor can regenerate only 12 times. Yet the series is on the
13th version. I wonder how they explained that away? And with some of the
Doctor versions (Cullen Baker especially) I found myself rooting for the Daleks
and the Cyber-men.

Even Dr. Who isn't enough to gull me into turning on my TV. Although if they
re-ran The Chronicles of Narnia with Tom Baker as the Marsh Wiggle I'd be
mightily tempted.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Gooseberry Fool
 Categories: Five, Fruits, Dairy
      Yield: 4 servings

      1 pt Gooseberries; stemmed
           Sugar
      2 tb (to 3 tb) water
      1 c  Heavy cream; whipped
 
  Put the gooseberries in a nonreactive saucepan with
  1/4 cup of sugar and the water. Cook very gently until
  the gooseberries are thoroughly done and soft enough to
  mash. Put them through a sieve or food mill and add
  sugar to taste. Fold the gooseberry puree through the
  whipped cream. Chill for several hours.
