Guess they all want to have some semblence, if only in perception, of
prestige. When I was hit by a car on the RIT campus, I was taken to
Strong. They only x-rayed the knee, said it would be a couple of weeks
until they could determine if there was any ligament damage, wrapped it
in a soft cast & gave me crutches, then discharged me to the Houghton
infirmary. Doctor there sent me down to another hospital for total body
x-rays, upon seeing them, called in an orthopedic surgeon who put my
knee back together the next day--and was not happy it had gone 5 days. I
spent about a couple of weeks there (also had a concussion), eating the
not so great hospital food. It was about on par with the dining hall
food at college. (G)

And, as usual, a good thing for me. (G) I finished assembling the top
for Audrey's baby quilt (She will be 3 next month.) today and hope to
get it basted, then quilted next week. It'll be a good "cuddle blankie"
for her.

Hopefully you won't get any of the nor'easter that's coming in Sunday
into Monday. Deborah is up in the Catskills now, due to fly out, I
believe, Monday. Hope all goes well so she (and family) can.

Get a digital one that will do metric and English. Spring loaded ones
aren't that precise--they will give a "close enough" figure but close
only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. My mom's chili sauce recipe
called for measuring the tomatoes in pounds--first few times I made it,
I only had a scale that measured in metric. Had to weigh the tomatoes,
then convert into English to get the proper measurement. All other
measurements were in English teaspoons, cups, etc. I also kicked up the
heat component of the sauce as well. (G)
