I always anticipate rubber bands when ordering clam strips or squiddles. I am
seldom disappointed and very occasionally pleasantly surprised. The chief
exception seems to be in Italian or Chinese venues.

I had a little mailing list going for a while after the tornado nearly took out
their house and wreaked havoc on the pond. But, it dwindled and died. I'd
imagine that Pat is probably still around - but, I don't know for sure. I don't
do Farcebook - but, there is, no doubt, someone here who does and might check
to see if she has a page - or something like that. Steve, I dunno, he was in
shaky shape in '98. But, not so shaky that he couldn't smoke a turkey for the
picnic.

At least two of the participants of that picnic have left us - that I know of.
Neysa Dormish, mother of Rabbigail. And Maya Houston - Don Houston's child
bride that he brought home from the Ukraine. Don I've heard nothing from for
several years.

Well, I'm making up a batch of rub for my boss after giving him a sample - he's
a smoker, too. So, I'll make a bigger batch and bring some with. IIRC, Brian is
a chile-head. I have a nice surprise for him, as well.

      6    Parts chilli powder (I use
           - Baron's Dark)
      6    Parts paprika (sweet)
      3    Parts ground coriander
      3    Parts garlic granules
      3    Parts onion granules
      3    Parts salt
      2    Parts ground cumin
      1    Part cayenne pepper
      1    Part crushed red pepper
      1    Part black pepper
      1    Part dried leaf oregano
 
  Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store in an airtight
  jar or container.

      3    Parts cayenne
      5    Parts black pepper

      7    Parts dried oregano
      7    Parts dried thyme
 
  (no cumin - good for fish and poultry)
  
  Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Blend well.
  Can be stored in an airtight container in your spice
  cabinet for up to 3 months.

  (Sprinkle at table)
  
  Combine all ingredients. Keep in shaker on table.

      2 tb Salt
      2 tb Garlic granules
      1 tb Black pepper
      1 tb Onion granules
      1 tb Cayenne pepper
      1 tb Dried oregano
      1 tb Dried thyme
 
  Combine all ingredient thoroughly.
  
  Store in an airtight container, preferably in the ice box.
  
  Use as needed.

      Title: Dirty Dave's Taco Seasoning Mix
 Categories: Spices, Chilies
      Yield: 1 /2 cup
 
      6 ts Mexene chilli spice mix
      5 ts Paprika
  4 1/2 ts Ground cumin
      1 tb Onion granules
      1 tb Garlic granules
    1/4 ts Cayenne; more to taste
 
  Mix well in a bowl.
  
  Keep unused portion in a sealed container in the ice box
  to keep the herbs/spices fresh.
  
  2 heaping tablespoons equal a packet.
  
  Makes about 1/2 a cup of mix.
