One can bribe with other than cash...  ;)  And, granted, if I use
plastic to pay for a meal, I'll often put the tip on the plastic, too..
especially if short of cash at the moment.  But, the point being that
there are always some things that will be better done with cash, so it
looks like we are in agreement about that..  :)

Haven't used it that way... generally, we've actually stressed that we
understand that it might not come back, just to keep them from feeling
guilty about it, or thinking that there might be strings attached... it
was more in the nature of a ministry...   At this stage in our lives,
the tables are somewhat turned... not really able to take that chance
anymore, with money as tight as it is now...

I can imagine...  I remember watching pinochle games when I was in
college... not something I actually learned to play, though.

Yeah, I know.  I guess the teachers are too busy teaching to the test,
that useful life skills like making change are lost in the shuffle...
no time to teach that...

That's my usual response, too...  :)   Along with the similar one, cheer
up, things could be worse... so I did, and...  ;)
