=======================================
HI Dave,

RH> We got tired of most of their advertising. Not the kind of stuff we
RH> like to hear about. Did appreciate the traffic reports and that we
RH> could listen to a show like Sean Hannity without having to change
RH> stations as we moved out of range on one station/into another's range.

DD> There is a knob, dial or push button to change the channel. I'd not
DD> listen to extremist talk radio if you held a gun to my head. I *do*

RH> We have it on partly to help Steve stay alert while driving the duller
RH> stretches. Every so often somebody interesting will be a guest on the
RH> show and sometimes really "interesting" callers will get thru with
 RH> their opinions.

DD> Diff'rent strokes and all that.

Yes, and it beats a lot of what is called music these days.

DD> I have yet to hear anyone any *ANY* talk demagogue radio show ... left
DD> or right that was even remotely interesting to me. They are all,
DD> without fail, trying to peddle something. Mostly consisting of meadow
 DD> muffins and bovine by-product.

We don't listen to those half hour or so "infomercial radio shows"
either. Same with the Monday night local college/university sports coach
of the season ones.

DD> The last talk radio thing I listened to and enjoyed was "The World
DD> Tomorrow" with Garner Ted Armstrong - broadcast on WHAM (1180 AM) from
DD> Rochester, New York. It was the lead-in program to an overnight jazz
DD> music show "The Best of All Possible Worlds" (The Wonderful World of
DD> Harry Abraham). Right up until the time in 1978 when the powers at
DD> WHAM switched over to white man's blues (country & western). I was
DD> highly incensed and let them know about it.
DD> Probably didn't do a lot of good since I wasn't in their primary
 DD> marketing area.

We used to listen to NPR a lot but sort of drifted away from it.
Probably should get back into it as there are a number of interesting
programs on it.

DD> listen a lot to the Old Time Radio (channel 82) but when they start
DD> flogging male enhancement, special pillows, etc. I trigger over to 40s
DD> on 4 or Real Jazz (67) or Symphony Hall (76).

RH> We're not "channel flippers", more often hitting the "off" button and
RH> switching to music MP3 files.

DD> I am habituated to having background entertainment going when/where
 DD> ever I go in a vehicle.

That's where we'll put on the music Steve has downloaded to the phone.
Mix of Southern Gospel, Mannheim Steamroller, PDQ Bach, classical and
others but no C/W.

DD> Title: Beef Stroganoff - ALDI
 DD> Categories: Beef, Mushrooms, Dairy
 DD> Yield: 4 Servings

RH> Pretty much the basic beef stroganoff recipe. I presume you stripped
RH> out the various Aldi product names. (G)

DD> Well, yeah. I'll strip the serial numbers off of nearly anything.
 DD> Bv)=

I don't pay attention to them anyway. I'll look for the ingredients in
whatever brand I can get them in--and compare so I don't get a laundry
list of chemical soup if I can get a more natural product.

Catch you later,
Ruth
