Salvaged from the old computer, which has been repaired,
though the Averatec works better (though slower), and I'm
going to keep it for backup for now, at least until I can
figure out why the old one's tap function now causes the
cursor to go haywire pretty frequently. Reinstallment of
any version of the driver yields an error message "a serious
system error has occurred."

An adventure. Some guy was manning the station and had to
go off to do something else, so he told me to look for
the two most suitable, so I went poking around the tank,
whereupon the lady who actually had charge of the area
told me "paws off." I told her of my quest, and she pulled
out two good-size ones, totalling just under $50. So you
had lobsters for the tranquilizing demonstration and a
nice snack, courtesy of Cuz'n Burt.

Annie, whom I go to visit tomorrow, says that she's on a
see food diet. She sees it, she eats it. By the way, her
hernia operation went well, and she says she's back to
normal. Which reminds me of this joke.

A football player breaks his hand, and he goes to the
surgeon, who patches him up. He asks, "Hey, doc, will I be
able to play the piano when I get better?" And the surgeon
replies, "Of course." To which the guy says, "Hey, that's
great! I was never able to play the piano before."

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.01

      Title: Kalamarakia Tursi (Pickled Squid)
 Categories: Greek, Seafoods, Appetizers
      Yield: 6 servings

     12 md Squid
      3 tb Olive oil
           Salt
           Freshly ground pepper
    1/4 c  Chopped fresh parsley
           Few sprigs fresh rosemary
      2 c  White vinegar (approx.)

MMMMM------------------PICKLING SPICES & HERBS-----------------------
      8    Black peppercorns
      2    Garlic cloves
      1    Bay leaf
      1    Sprig fresh rosemary

  Wash and clean the squid, separating the outer sacs from the heads and
  tentacles, removing and discarding the translucent cartilage, and
  small sand bag and ink. Rub salt on the outer sacs and rinse them
  inside and out with cold water. Heads and tentacles should be rinsed
  thoroughly. Cut the sacs into 1/2-inch wide rounds. Heat the oil in a
  frying pan and slip in the squid rounds, heads and tentacles. Cover
  and simmer until bright pink and tender (approximately 30 minutes),
  adding salt and pepper to taste, parsley and rosemary during the last
  15 minutes. Half fill a clean quart-sized jar with the squid and all
  the juices remaining in the pan. Add white vinegar almost to the top,
  then the pickling spices and herbs. Seal the jar tightly and shake.
  Marinate at least one day before serving. Keep in the refrigerator.

  To serve, remove from marinade and serve cold, within 10 days.
