I had a different outcome the last time I experienced that - tootling merrily
down I-57 toward Memphis I was out of hours (in my log-book) short on sleep,
etc. I was trying to get past the scale house south of Mt. Vernon, IL so I
could pull over and take a nap. Northbound truckers had told me it was closed -
and that was the last place I might have been asked to show my comic book to an
official. So, I wanted to be past there before laying my head down.

When I awoke, because of the bumpy ride, the view out the windscreen was all
green grass. Taillights on the right and headlights on the left. But, grass
ahead of me. My brain soon sent me a message that I must be doing 70 per down
the median. The eventual outcome was that I laid the semi over on its side and
slid across the southbound lanes of I-57 - closing it for a couple hours. I got
the state whip to believe that I got in that mess dodging a deer. It helped
that he had smacked a deer about half-a-mile from where I was in the mess ...
with his squad car. When they delivered me to the motel at Mt. Vernon - do you
think I could go to sleep? Not on your Nellie. Too much adrenalin coursing
through my body.  FEH!!!

      Title: Deer Backstrap
 Categories: Five, Game, Pork
      Yield: 3 Servings
 
      1    Whole venison backstrap
    1/2 lb Bacon slices
      1 tb (ea) salt & black pepper
      1 ts Garlic powder
 
  An easy recipe for venison backstrap is to cut it
  lengthwise into 3 equal strips. Season to taste (we use
  salt, pepper and garlic powder) then roll each strip up,
  circle with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  
  What you should have will look like a filet mignon and
  after you grill it rare over coals will taste twice as
  good.
