My sister has one that was a family-only recipe in her husband's family.
At my niece's baby shower, her sister-in-law was telling the tale of
asking for that recipe before she had actually become part of the family
(perhaps it was the first visit, before any serious intentions had been
declared)... and the dead silence that followed that request.. (G)  As I
remember the story, Lydia's MIL tacitly accepted Kim into the family by
actually giving her the recipe...  ;)   That was for her rhubarb cream
pie...  which by the way is also VERY tasty...  :)

We've been waiting for this for months!!!  (G)  I'm heading back there
for lunch with another friend on Thursday... ;)

That can be devastating... There was a restaurant that burned down (also
an electrical fire IIRC) near where we used to camp as a family... we'd
gone there the very first year to have a special family celebration of
our parents' 40th wedding anniversary, also that year... and then it was
a regular go-to place each year, at least for some of us...  Sad when it
burnt, but apparently it was sufficiently missed by the whole community
that it was rebuilt totally a couple years later...

Mostly they've added more places that one can eat, in more areas of the
(expanding) campus...  Probably as much a response to more people to
feed as anything else.  But there are some changes in offerings, too..
For one thing, beer used to be freely available, now not so much so. 
And they have more choices available like sushi and other ethnic foods.

Doesn't mean that there wouldn't be off-campus places to eat... there
are always visitors, after all...  ;)
